8. Iyar – Breakthrough and Abundance

Iyar is the eight month in the Jewish civil calendar and the second month of the religious calendar.

In the Bible, the month of Iyar is called “Codesh Ziv,” meaning Radiance. This is the time when the trees are bright with blossoms.

Iyar is also related to the Hebrew word for light, “ohr.” Midrash explains that it was named for the manna which began to fall during Iyar, a month after the Jews left Egypt. The manna was given with Divine Radiance.

“Light displaces all darkness”. Although we known this fact to be true, when the awareness of this truth becomes a reality, it is active and now something can be done with this light. God Creates out of Light – His eternal glorious Light. The Light of God lives inside of you, Light to create new blossoms in your life. Blossoms on trees can lead to two things, fragrance, or fruit. Choose which one you want to be – the Fragrance carrier of His Light and Presence or fruit for the healing of the nations, or both.

On the 15th of Iyar. The food source of the Israelites started running out, and they complained to Moses.

“The Israelites said to them, “If only we had died by the Lord’s hand in the land of Egypt, when we sat by pots of meat and ate all the bread we wanted. Instead, you brought us into this wilderness to make this whole assembly die of hunger!”

Then the Lord said to Moses, “I am going to rain bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. This way I will test them to see whether they will follow my instructions”. Exodus 16:3-4

The house of Israel named it manna, and it was like coriander seed, white, and its taste was like wafers with honey. Exodus 16:31

Your Portion

God created the substance of the manna during the night when the Israelites were asleep. He created it in a time of darkness, physical darkness but also in the hour of the Israelites’ despair. They woke up to food, to sustenance, to fresh dew and manna.

Do not allow complaints to keep you from seeing the provision God has already provided for you. Awaken to the divine radiance of His Light in your life.

He said, “If you will carefully obey the Lord your God, do what is right in his sight, pay attention to his commands, and keep all his statutes, I will not inflict any of the illnesses on you that I inflicted on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.” Exodus 15:26

The month of Iyar (אייר) is referred to as a favorable time for healing, for its name is an acronym for Ani Adonai Rofecha, “I am God your Healer” (אני י‑י רפאך) this was the first time God made Himself known as healer, Jehovah Rapha.

Your Portion

God reveals His character to us through His many different names. When we honor God as Jehovah Rapha the healer, we can receive healing from God. Honor is about recognizing, when we recognize something as our truth, we can receive and trust from the position we hold. The same goes for the negative side. We will receive from what we recognize whether it is negative or positive. We become what we behold. Allow Holy Spirit to guide you into areas of truth, trust, and honor toward Jehovah Rapha.

We read in Exodus 13:21-22 that the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud and fire. Again, in Exodus 16:10 we read that Aaron and the sons of Israel beheld the Glory of the Lord in the cloud.

The second year after the exodus out of Egypt, during the month of Iyar the Tabernacle was built. First, we see God was in the clouds above, but because of the Temple, God’s Presence was now in the midst of them. It represents the first month of the Shekinah Glory of God leading the tribes into the Promised Land.

Your Portion

As we read the scripture, we recognize God’s heart is to be amongst His people. First God walked and talked with Adam and Eve but their was separation. But God’s desire never changed. He was in the cloud above, then He was in the temple below amongst His people, and now we have Jesus Christ, bringing us back into union with Father.

The presence of God is always with us. Practice your awareness of His Glory. The more we focus on His Presence the more we will grow and recognize it. It is in this place of His Presence that we Blossom, it is in this place of awareness that we see Shekinah Glory manifest all around us. It is in this place that we co-create with Him.

The Lord answered Moses, “Go on ahead of the people and take some of the elders of Israel with you. Take the staff you struck the Nile within your hand and go. I am going to stand there in front of you on the rock at Horeb; when you hit the rock, water will come out of it and the people will drink.” Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel”. Exodus 17:5-6

It was said that the rock travelled with the people until Miriam’s death, it was called Miriam’s well.

Your Portion

Water is often the symbol used for Holy Spirit. We must connect to the source of the River. Scripture says in John 7:37 that living waters will flow from within you. Connect with the source of the River, that will give you life. While they were in the desert, they had water, He will never leave you to thirst. Drink, drink, drink!

Wow that is a lot, let us summarize.

It is said the Israelites received three great gifts: The Well [Miriam], the Clouds of Glory [Aaron] and the Manna [Moses]

What is the Manna in your hand.

It is all found inside of you.

Next week we will dive a little deeper into Coriander and the meaning of this amazing anointing oil.
